About the Role

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Underwriter to join their team in the London office. As a Senior Technical Underwriter, you will play a key role in providing underwriting support to the wider team and taking ownership of large and complex risk underwriting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide underwriting guidance to the business in respect of Binding Authorities with carriers
  • Provide technical underwriting input into the development and performance of the underwriting system
  • Acting within agreed underwriting authorities
  • Support the underwriting team in the evaluation and pricing of complex risks
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including brokers and carriers

Requirements

  • 10+ Years of Underwriting Property or Commercial business
  • Experience working in an MGA or with delegated authority
  • In-depth technical knowledge of policy wordings, covers, rating and underwriting features across a broad range of Commercial exposures
  • Experience of underwriting at a portfolio level
  • Experience in managing broker relationships
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
