Position Overview:

The Warehouse Operative plays a vital role in achieving operational excellence by ensuring that all inventory is accurately processed, securely stored, and efficiently picked. This position is crucial for maintaining our commitment to delivering products 'on time in full every time.'

The successful candidate will implement quality assurance measures throughout the inventory management process. Any discrepancies related to physical quality, quantity, or timing will be addressed proactively by the Warehouse Operative.

Ideal applicants will demonstrate strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that all administrative responsibilities are executed with precision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee receiving processes, including quality control
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure accuracy
  • Determine appropriate storage locations
  • Facilitate order picking for fulfillment
  • Address inquiries regarding inventory discrepancies
  • Resolve issues related to incoming goods, including quality, quantity, and documentation
  • Maintain cleanliness and security of the storage area
  • Assist Procurement and Purchasing with demand forecasting and replenishment strategies
  • Ensure data integrity within the ERP system, including stock levels and picking progress
  • Collaborate daily with Operations, Sales, and Project teams to align warehouse activities with business objectives
  • Perform additional operational and administrative tasks as required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in similar roles is preferred, demonstrating adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management practices and storekeeping principles
  • Ability to interpret materials from technical documents
  • Technical proficiency in stock control and demand planning
  • Familiarity with ERP and WMS systems, as well as MS Office
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Experience managing high-volume SKUs and related transactions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in manufacturing or engineering sectors
  • Knowledge of the hardware or ironmongery industry
