Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physiotherapist to provide specialized musculoskeletal (MSK) care for patients within a secure correctional facility. This role is integral to a collaborative healthcare team, working alongside Physical Training Instructors in a gym environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an independent clinical caseload, assessing patients primarily in the health center, with occasional assessments in accommodation and segregation areas.
- Collaborate effectively with Scottish Prison Service staff, ensuring safety and compliance at all times.
- Engage with various healthcare professionals, including General Practitioners, psychologists, and nursing staff, to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications and Skills
- Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration.
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
- Postgraduate expertise in relevant specialties, demonstrating a thorough understanding of clinical guidelines and standards.
- Proven leadership abilities to oversee daily service delivery.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Proficient in basic information technology and a valid UK/EU/EEA driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Membership in the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
- Experience in multidisciplinary collaboration and involvement in research or audit activities.
- Interest or experience in the specific area outlined in the role profile.
Contract Details
This is a permanent, part-time position requiring 12 hours of work per week. The salary will be pro-rata based on part-time hours.
