Position Overview

The role involves delivering specialized musculoskeletal physiotherapy services to individuals within a correctional facility, working collaboratively as part of a comprehensive healthcare team. This position requires close cooperation with fitness instructors in the facility's gym.

As a specialist, you will manage an independent clinical caseload, conducting assessments primarily in the health center, with occasional evaluations in residential and segregation areas. Safety is a top priority, with security personnel present at all times. A key aspect of this role is the ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary health team and liaise with external agencies such as General Practitioners, psychologists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience
  • Postgraduate expertise in relevant specialty demonstrating comprehensive knowledge necessary for effective leadership
  • Thorough understanding of clinical guidelines and standards in the specialty
  • Specialized knowledge of pertinent conditions, policies, and procedures to ensure effective service delivery
  • Leadership capabilities for managing daily service operations
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in the specialty, including relevant courses and qualifications
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Valid UK/EU/EEA driving license

Contract Details

This is a permanent, part-time position requiring 12 hours of work per week. Please note that the salary will be pro-rata based on part-time hours.
