Key Responsibilities
  • Drive customer-centric decision-making by collaborating with marketing and customer departments to understand customer requirements in the defined area.
  • Develop a deep understanding of market dynamics, including channels, brands, market size, competition, supply side, market shares, growth, and trends.
  • Contribute to building a comprehensive category plan that captures market aspects, our position, and identifies opportunities to increase sales, profit, and/or market share.
  • Define the brand selection strategy within the category, ensuring a consistent brand offering aligns with our 'quality products' strategy.
  • Manage the range review process, conducting regular analysis of range performance to ensure all products and services meet expectations.
  • Develop pricing strategies to maximize gross margin in the category.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in Category Management, Procurement, or Buying.
  • Customer-focused with skills in identifying customer needs.
  • Experience working in both digital and traditional channels.
  • Strong negotiation skills with experience managing complex supplier relationships.
  • Ability to manage direct reports and inspire colleagues.
  • Able to interact effectively with the Leadership Team.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make fact-based decisions.
  • Excellent engagement skills to bring stakeholders along.
