Outpatient Receptionist and Call Centre Clerk

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as an Outpatient Receptionist and Call Centre Clerk at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a professional front-of-house and telephone service to patients and visitors.
  • Manage the efficient and effective operation of the call centre, reporting any issues to the supervisor/team leader.
  • Process paper reconciliation slips accurately and efficiently, maintaining national and local standards.
  • Input and update the Trust's Patient Administration System (PAS) to ensure accurate patient records and high data quality.
  • Arrange outpatient appointments in accordance with agreed booking rules.
  • Stay up-to-date with organisational changes to provide a responsive and efficient service.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times, relating to staff, patients, and the Trust's operations.
Requirements
  • Education to GCSE standard (or equivalent).
  • Previous telephone experience.
  • Previous experience working with the general public.
  • Experience of accurate data input.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience of working in a team.
  • Previous reception experience.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous call centre experience.
  • Use of the PAS System.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment.
Skills and Abilities
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
