Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering prescribing-related cost-efficiencies and improving the safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness of patient care.

Main Responsibilities

Working with multiple GP practices across Derbyshire, you will:

  • Deliver prescribing-related cost-efficiencies in line with agreed standard operating procedures
  • Provide education, advice, and support to practices and care homes to improve patient care
  • Retrieve, analyse, interpret, and present patient-related prescribing and clinical data from practice clinical computer systems and written notes
  • Implement prescribing changes and inform patients, practice staff, and local communities
  • Deliver education to healthcare professionals, care home, and social care staff, patients, and the public to promote effective medicines use
  • Liaise with GPs, secondary care, community social care, community pharmacy, patients, and carers to deliver medicines optimisation

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of experience
  • BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience in hospital, primary care, or community pharmacy
