About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Physician to join our Geriatric Medicine team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the care of older adults with complex medical needs.
  • Develop and implement effective care pathways to improve patient outcomes and experience.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care and improve patient flow.
  • Contribute to the development of our services, including the design and implementation of new care models and initiatives.
  • Supervise and educate junior doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of care.
Person Specification

We are looking for a Consultant Physician with:

  • MRCP or equivalent qualification.
  • Full GMC registration and a license to practice.
  • Experience in geriatric medicine, with a strong track record of clinical excellence and leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • A commitment to teaching and education, with experience of supervising and educating junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
