Lead VFX Artist Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious VFX artist to join our team and contribute to the creation of world-class visual effects in our Total War franchise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Art directors to define the art style for VFX across various projects.
  • Develop and implement high-quality VFX content for previsualization, benchmarks, and visual development.
  • Lead and mentor the VFX team, providing guidance and feedback to ensure the delivery of rich and varied effects.
  • Work closely with the production team to plan and deliver VFX content on schedule and to the highest standards.
  • Maintain team health and wellbeing, while motivating the team to be productive and proactive.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging visual effects technology and plan technical improvements to keep competitive with industry trends.
  • Collaborate with design, animation, and other teams to ensure VFX is fully integrated in the game experience.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience in game development, with 3+ shipped titles.
  • Extensive experience with real-time VFX authoring tools.
  • Expert knowledge of one or more 3D packages.
  • Strong understanding of Photoshop, Substance, and other 2D editing or texturing software.
  • Ability to create animated textures, simulations, and associated related 2D content.
  • Basic animation understanding and skills to implement this in VFX for timing.
  • Experience in lighting and image processing.
  • Understanding of colour theory, visual design, and composition.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, practical approach, with excellent time management skills.
  • Understanding of VFX performance and experience planning and optimising for various platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strong awareness of industry technology trends.
