Job Summary

The Deputy Aseptic Pharmacist will play a key role in the management of aseptic services at Borders General Hospital, providing pharmaceutical care to patients with cancer and palliative care needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for the management of aseptic services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practice guidelines.
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to pharmacy staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care pathways, ensuring seamless transitions of care.
  • Contribute to the development of pharmacy services, including the implementation of electronic medicines management systems and other innovative solutions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient safety and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Relevant clinical or operational experience in aseptic services or a related field.
  • Post-registration foundation training or equivalent experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with best practice guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Working Arrangements

The Deputy Aseptic Pharmacist will work closely with the pharmacy team to develop and implement strategies for the management of aseptic services. The role may involve working weekends and out-of-hours shifts, as well as participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to the development of pharmacy services.
