Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our in-house manufacturing team in Cambridge on a 12-month fixed-term contract. As a key member of our Purification & Conjugation team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of purification techniques, preparing antibody and peptide conjugates, and producing high-quality results to meet high-throughput targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the team in lab work, ensuring high-quality production and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Carry out purification and conjugation processes to deliver completed experiments on time.
  • Develop effective relationships across various teams within Abcam.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality policies, SOPs, and Health and Safety procedures.
  • Contribute to lab housekeeping tasks and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, sharing relevant information and participating in cross-team discussions.

Requirements

You will have a degree in biological sciences or equivalent practical experience in a laboratory setting. You should be familiar with life science laboratory techniques, protein purification (Affinity, SEC, IEX, HIC), and conjugation techniques. Experience with AKTA chromatography systems, including Unicorn method writing/editing, is an advantage.

You will be a team player with excellent communication skills, able to work precisely, follow instructions, and maintain accurate records. You should be highly self-motivated, hardworking, and able to deliver results consistently in a fast-paced environment.
