Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Compensation & Benefits: £46,505 - £58,131 plus up to 10% pension with 5% contribution, annual bonus, retail savings schemes, online GP access, life assurance coverage, complimentary on-site parking, 25 days of annual leave, 1 wellbeing day, and bank holidays.
Location: Bradford, hybrid working model - two office days per week.
Employment Type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Role Summary: We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to become a vital part of the Commercial Services team at Yorkshire Water, contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional service to our clientele.

Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee the commercial integrity of all financial and contractual elements related to a portfolio of projects under Yorkshire Water's Capital Programme. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring project budgets are adhered to.
- Facilitating negotiations with Contract Partners and Suppliers.
- Guaranteeing compliance with industry standards.
- Assessing financial risks and supporting project success through financial oversight.
Additionally, this role involves collaborating with the Commercial and Contracts Manager to devise and execute commercial strategies while identifying new business opportunities.
Collaboration:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will work closely with Senior Project Managers and Project Managers to enhance contract performance, ensuring projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
Furthermore, the role entails assisting in the development and execution of contract management, risk assessment, and procurement strategies to ensure the successful delivery of projects, along with providing guidance on risk management, cost control, and budget oversight.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- Extensive knowledge of construction contract administration.
- Ability to identify, quantify, and manage commercial risks.
- Familiarity with the NEC suite of contracts.
- Over 5 years of commercial experience in the construction sector, ideally within Water/Utilities.
- A professional qualification related to the role or working towards one.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with all stakeholders and support key commercial decisions.
Preferred Qualifications:

Work Environment:
We promote a flexible working arrangement, typically requiring an average of two days in the office per week. For those who prefer on-site work, our office is accessible Monday to Friday during business hours.
