Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Work Location: Bradford, hybrid working model - two office days per week.

Employment Type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Role Summary: We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to become a vital part of the Commercial Services team at Yorkshire Water, contributing to our mission of delivering outstanding service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee the commercial integrity of all financial and contractual elements of contracted projects within our Capital Programme. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring project budgets are adhered to.
  • Facilitating negotiations with Contract Partners and Suppliers.
  • Guaranteeing compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Assessing financial risks and supporting project success through financial oversight.

Additionally, this role involves collaborating with the Commercial and Contracts Manager to develop and execute commercial strategies while identifying new business opportunities.

Collaboration:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will work closely with Senior Project Managers and Project Managers to enhance contract performance, ensuring projects are completed within budget and on schedule.

Skills & Qualifications Required:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Extensive knowledge of construction contract administration.
  • Ability to identify, quantify, and manage commercial risks.
  • Familiarity with the NEC suite of contracts.
  • A minimum of 5 years of commercial experience in the construction sector, preferably within Water/Utilities.
  • A professional qualification or working towards one relevant to the role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Work Environment:
We promote a flexible working model, typically requiring an average of two days in the office per week. For those who prefer an on-site experience, our office is available Monday to Friday during standard working hours.
