We're committed to providing excellent care and services to our clients and children, which has contributed to our successful growth. To maintain this pace, we're seeking a Relief Chef Manager to join our team.
The RoleAs the Relief Chef Manager, you'll support our catering facilities in schools within your region, focusing on operational and financial performance. Your goal will be to deliver high-quality food and service while showcasing your creativity and flair.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing kitchen teams to achieve exceptional results
- Supporting the control of catering operations, including stock, food, and labor costs
- Ensuring consistency in food and service standards for students and staff
- Driving sales through promotions and added-value events
- Managing and improving controllable costs
- Overseeing menu development and implementation
- Maintaining company systems, procedures, and legislation
- Conducting regular audits to ensure standards are met
We're looking for someone who shares our passion for delivering exceptional food and service to our schools. Key skills and experience include:
- OND or HND qualification (advantageous but not required)
- Driving license
- Craft-based experience using fresh ingredients
- Knowledge of health and safety practices
- Financial understanding of gross profit management and sales targets
- Line management experience
- Experience in a similar environment
We offer a unique work-life balance, with Monday-to-Friday hours during school term time. This means more time for personal activities and no working at Christmas. Our benefits include:
- 40 hours per week, with no late nights
- Working 40 weeks per year, based around term time
- Competitive salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum

Please note that we require all staff to share our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and an enhanced DBS disclosure will be sought by the company.
