About The Role

Support Students with Complex Health Needs—Facilitate Their Educational Journey at EKC Canterbury College

EKC Group is looking for a Specialized Learning Support Practitioner to join our team at EKC Canterbury College. In this role, you will assist students who require support due to complex health care needs and learning challenges, enabling them to engage in various programs and qualifications ranging from entry level to level 6, including Functional Skills and GCSE English and Mathematics.

If you are passionate about supporting students during school hours, without weekend or night shifts, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

**Please note that this position requires the successful candidate to work 37 hours per week, 38 weeks during term time with a pro-rata salary of £18,771 per annum.**

Compensation for 5.1 weeks pro-rata, £2,533 will be distributed evenly across your twelve monthly salary payments in addition to the stated pro-rata salary.**

About You

We are eager to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Practitioner to assist our Further Education students with Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

You should be passionate about supporting students with complex and high-level needs. Experience working with individuals facing challenges such as Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties, Global Development Delay, Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, Rare Diseases, or Sensory Impairments is highly desirable.

Strong communication skills, an understanding of behavior management, and a commitment to inspiring students to engage actively in their learning are essential. The ability to work effectively under pressure is also important.

A background in health and social care or special educational needs is preferred.
