Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) is looking for a proactive, adaptable, and forward-thinking individual to join our Response & Resilience Support team. This team plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our crews by developing and maintaining operational risk information.

As part of a small team, you will be responsible for producing precise and high-quality risk information that ensures the safety of our crews and the communities of Royal Berkshire during fires and other emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance operational risk information in line with best practices.


- Collect, analyze, interpret, and validate operational risk data from various sources, collaborating with site operators, partner agencies, and operational personnel within RBFRS and the Thames Valley.

- Update and manage the operational risk information database, ensuring that the information is relevant, timely, and accurate.


- Collaborate with neighboring fire and rescue services, particularly the two other Thames Valley services, to ensure timely, secure, and efficient sharing of site-specific operational risk information.

- Assist station-based staff with the re-inspection and re-validation process through various activities, including the creation of effective control documentation, participation in site visits, and attendance at site-specific exercises.

- Attend and support the Thames Valley Local Resilience Forum, providing advice on work streams related to operational risk.

- Demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and ensure timely delivery of quality outcomes and projects.

- Exhibit a high level of IT proficiency.

- Organize and facilitate meetings at local and regional levels, including multi-agency forums.

- Develop, maintain, and assure information databases.

- Possess knowledge of emergency and contingency arrangements in accordance with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 (CCA 2004).

- Understand the role of the Fire & Rescue Service within the CCA 2004.

- Have experience in system and database management, including data entry, interrogation, and assurance.
