Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at a specialist secondary school in Blackpool. The school caters for pupils in KS3 and KS4 who have Education, Health & Care Plans to support their social, emotional and mental health needs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional care and support to all pupils in your presence.
  • Help the general classroom teacher with planning and delivering of lessons to small groups or working 1:1 with pupils.
  • Ensure that all children feel safe, secure and confident in the support you are giving them.
  • Promote pupils cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural and physical development and spiritual well-being through the school's curriculum.
  • Handle and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
  • Support the teacher in monitoring, assessing, recording and reporting pupils progress according to the school's policies.
Key Information:
  • Full-time role, Monday to Friday (8:30-3:30pm) start date ASAP.
  • Term-time only role.
  • PAYE contract.
  • Primary and secondary SEN and SEMH Provision.
  • Competitive hourly rate of pay of £12.90+ per hour depending on experience and additional duties.
