About the Role

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at a specialist secondary school in Blackpool. The school caters for pupils with Education, Health & Care Plans, providing a supportive environment for their social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional care and support to pupils, ensuring their safety and confidence in the classroom.
  • Assist the general classroom teacher with lesson planning and delivery, working with small groups or one-to-one with pupils.
  • Promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, and physical development through the school's curriculum.
  • Handle and de-escalate challenging behaviour, maintaining a safe and well-cared-for school environment.
  • Support the teacher in monitoring, assessing, recording, and reporting pupils' progress according to the school's policies.
Key Information
  • Full-time role, Monday to Friday (8:30-3:30pm).
  • Term-time only role.
  • PAYE contract.
  • Primary and secondary SEN and SEMH Provision.
