We are seeking a Behaviour Support Mentor to join our team at Prospero Teaching. As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you will work with children and young people who require 1:1 support due to complex needs and challenging behaviours associated with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions, and mental health problems.

About the Role:
  • Deliver person-centred support to individuals with high levels of complex needs and challenging behaviours
  • Work with children and young people who require 1:1 support for multiple reasons, such as anxiety, exclusion, speech and language difficulties, physical and mental health issues, disabilities, and learning difficulties
  • Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour
  • Build positive relationships with students and communicate effectively with them
  • Enhance skills with professional training and development
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour
  • De-escalation training would be advantageous
  • Confidence to make decisions and take initiative
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy and understanding
