Senior Credit Risk Analyst

Salary: Circa £55,000 National / Circa £75,000 London

Locations: Norwich, York, and London

This role within the CIO Credit Team is dedicated to evaluating portfolio credit risk, assessing individual transactions, and ensuring comprehensive governance.

A significant emphasis will be placed on Real Estate Finance, encompassing both Commercial and Equity Release sectors, while also providing opportunities to engage in broader team initiatives across various asset classes, including Infrastructure and Structured Finance.

The position will contribute to the advancement of the Credit Operating Model, striving for excellence across a diverse array of activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct credit risk evaluations for new and existing transactions, critically assessing credit and rating evaluations provided by Fund Managers. Monitor fluctuations in credit exposure at both counterparty and portfolio levels. Stay informed on financial markets to identify emerging credit risk challenges. Generate management information to support oversight of the portfolio. Assist in the creation of detailed credit reports covering asset types, sectors, and geographic regions, incorporating forward-looking insights and analyses based on observed trends.

Required Skills and Experience:

A degree in finance or a related field, or a postgraduate qualification (e.g., CFA), along with relevant industry experience. A solid understanding of credit risk and the ability to perform associated analyses, ideally encompassing not only investment-grade Commercial Real Estate but also other asset classes, products, and risk profiles. Capacity to collaborate effectively and apply conceptual thinking to identify and resolve issues. Strong proficiency in mathematical concepts, accounting principles, and techniques. Ability to provide advice and guidance within specialization to colleagues at all levels. Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize and adapt to competing timelines. Strong communication skills with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships. Proficient working knowledge of MS applications (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel).
