Job Overview
The University of Glasgow is seeking to appoint three research interns to assist with the initiatives of its research groups. This role will provide essential support to various research teams within the School of Law.

(The relevant groups include Corporate and Financial Law; Criminal Law; International Law, Conflict and Security; Legal Theory; Private Law; Public Law and the Scottish Civil Justice Hub.) The selected candidates will collaborate with research group leaders and the School's Directors of Research to facilitate research-related events, manage communications, and aid in the dissemination of activities related to research projects.

These positions are fixed-term appointments. Key Responsibilities 1.

To deliver academic support to designated research groups within the School of Law, fostering the development of funded research projects, conferences, and other scholarly initiatives aligned with the School's research strategy.

2.

To assist in organizing research-related events, which includes communication with participants and attendees, promotional activities, coordination with other School and University personnel, and providing practical support during the events.

3. To contribute to the promotion of events and research activities, including writing newsletters and creating social media content as appropriate. 4. To provide research assistance on projects within the relevant subject area. 5. To support the management of research activities within the subject area. 6.

To prioritize tasks effectively and manage work within a predetermined schedule to meet project deadlines and maintain high standards.

7. Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Directors of Research or heads of research groups.

Qualifications and Skills Essential: A1 A degree in Law (minimum high upper second class honours) or a degree in another discipline followed by a graduate degree in Law.
A2 A thorough and current understanding of the subject area. Desirable: B1 Specialized knowledge in one or more areas covered by the School's research groups.

Skills Required: C1 Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
C2 Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
C3 Effective time management abilities.
C4 Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
C5 Ability to operate with minimal supervision.
C6 Self-driven and motivated.
C7 Capacity to accept collective responsibilities and act accordingly. C9 Competence to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
C10 Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.

Experience Required: E1 Background in legal research and writing.
E2 Demonstrated ability to achieve objectives efficiently and on time. Terms and Conditions Salary will be at Grade 6, £32,332 - £36,024 per annum. This role is full-time (35 hours per week) and fixed-term for up to 12 months.
