About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Director to join our team in the UK. As a key member of our audit team, you will be responsible for leading external audits, managing a portfolio of clients, and leading audit teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the formulation of audit strategy and planning for clients.
  • Provide technical expertise and advice to audit teams and clients.
  • Lead audit teams to ensure timely completion of audits within budget.
  • Manage audit assignments from planning to finalization of reports.
  • Monitor and control time spent on audits to ensure adherence to budget.
  • Coach, feedback, and performance manage audit team members.
  • Maintain control and stability under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ensure audit teams adhere to standards and procedures.
  • Draft audit opinion summaries and other reporting documents.
  • Ensure clients are billed according to agreed billing plans.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for new work.
  • Develop business relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Act as a point of contact for senior management and clients.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients.
  • Show vision and strategic perspective.
  • Deliver confident and clear presentations to clients.
  • Ensure audit services are tailored to client needs.
  • Produce high-quality work in line with firm policies and processes.
Requirements
  • ACA/CA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualification.
  • Significant experience leading external audits and managing audit teams.
  • Prior experience working at Senior Manager level.
  • Client relationship management experience.
  • Relevant insurance sector audit experience.
  • Up-to-date technical knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS102 and IFRS.
  • Experience managing, training, and coaching audit teams.
  • Experience using audit software and Microsoft packages.
