Consultant in Palliative Medicine

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join its dynamic multi-professional Macmillan Specialist Palliative Care team (MSPCT). The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality care to patients with specialist palliative needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist palliative care to patients in the acute hospital, directly and indirectly, through clinical advice, education, and support with quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop expertise in an area of special interest relevant to the specialty, locality, and regional strategy.
  • Contribute to research development, with interest/experience in research desirable.
Requirements
  • Full Registration with the General Medical Council.
  • MRCP, MRCGP, FRCA or equivalent qualification.
  • Be on the specialist register for Palliative Medicine or be within six months of entry at the time of interview.
Desirable Criteria
  • Masters degree or other higher degree in a relevant subject.
  • Post graduate teaching diploma or similar.
