Position Overview

This role presents a unique opportunity to engage in an interim leadership position within the Neurodiversity Pathway. The contract is for a fixed term, collaborating closely with another Pathway Operations Manager. Candidates seeking secondment are also encouraged to consider this opportunity. The selected individual will receive comprehensive support and guidance from the Service Manager.

The successful candidate will work alongside the existing Neurodiversity Pathway Manager, each managing distinct portfolios of responsibilities while maintaining the ability to provide coverage for one another during absences. Key responsibilities will include overseeing pathway advancements, managing active caseloads, and supervising team performance, which encompasses appraisals and mandatory training. Depending on the candidate's expertise, there may be opportunities for clinical involvement as required by the service.

The role will utilize the Anna Freud iThrive framework to guide the development of the pathway, which encompasses:

  • Assessment of children and adolescents (ages 5-18) who may present with Autism, ADHD, or Tourette's Syndrome alongside co-occurring mental health challenges.
  • Post-diagnostic support and intervention.
  • Assessment and intervention for children and adolescents (ages 0-18) with Learning Disabilities.
  • Collaborative efforts with the Learning Disability and Autism Programme (LDAP).

Main Responsibilities

The Pathway Operations Manager should possess a strong commitment to enhancing service accessibility and demonstrate flexibility in supporting team and service development.

As a member of the senior management team, you will provide specialized clinical practice in agreement with the service manager, considering the management responsibilities associated with this position. Collaboration with the broader CAMHS services and tier 4 will be essential.

Livewell Southwest is dedicated to delivering services in local communities in partnership with key agencies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing clinical input to the Specialist CAMHS pathway on a daily basis.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the specialist CAMHS pathways in collaboration with the service manager, which may include:
    • Neurodiversity pathway
    • Children In Care pathway
    • P-CAP Pathway
    • Infant mental health Pathway
    • Early help Pathway
    • Therapy Pathway

Job Responsibilities

Service Delivery

Assume day-to-day management responsibility for the Neurodevelopmental/Learning Disability Pathway, utilizing performance management systems to ensure effective service delivery.

Collaborate with senior management to fulfill integrated governance requirements and be accountable for governance within the team, which may involve contributing to policy and procedure documentation related to clinical practice.

Ensure compliance with key mechanisms supporting clinical delivery, including Care Programme Approach, Clinical Records Management, Health Care Data Entry, Incident Reporting, and Serious Untoward Incident Review.

Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations and policies.

Assess and identify the development and training needs of team members, contributing to the Continued Professional Development (CPD) training program.

Facilitate the development and delivery of training for wider stakeholders and partner agencies.

Ensure professional registration requirements are consistently met and arrange for clinical supervision on a minimum monthly basis.

Provide guidance on autonomous clinical practice within the agreed service delivery area.

Contribute to the delivery of consultation and training.

Engage in limited clinical work as agreed with the service manager.

Managerial

Ensure that multi-organization governance is appropriately managed.

Lead and operationally manage a team, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and external regulations.

Oversee the daily workload of the team, addressing staff and performance issues as necessary.

Manage team members in accordance with Livewell Southwest HR policies.

Implement effective supervision arrangements for all staff and provide management and supervision as needed.

Ensure all staff receive training in line with the training plan and complete all PDPs to support their development.

Ensure compliance with the Mental Health Capacity Act and other relevant legislation.

Contribute to effective workforce planning and development within the network.

Collect and present activity data to relevant management forums in the agreed format.

Clinical

Promote and uphold high standards of clinical care.

Develop and implement care plans with active involvement from service users and their caregivers.

Establish robust systems to monitor clinical practice in line with CQC standards.

Ensure effective care pathways for transitions between mental health and other services.

Work collaboratively with other teams and sectors to ensure effective discharge planning.

Implement a proactive system of caseload review and management to achieve local and national targets.

Participate in safeguarding initiatives as required.

Communicate information clearly and effectively to all stakeholders.

Take personal accountability for your practice, ensuring safe and competent care delivery.

Professional

Maintain standards of practice in accordance with employer and regulatory bodies.

Protect client confidentiality at all times.

Engage in regular clinical and managerial supervision.

Participate in performance reviews and respond to objectives.

Stay updated on new recommendations and guidelines.

Collaborate closely with internal and external personnel, ensuring effective communication and partnership.

Act as a point of contact for external agencies seeking information or referrals.

Management of Resources

Act as an authorized signatory for financial transactions within approved limits.

Maximize resource utilization through effective management of the CAMHS Infant/Community Pathway.

Work with senior management to utilize resources effectively for project work.

Education and Training

Assume responsibility for personal development and support new team members.

Ensure completion of mandatory training as scheduled.

Oversee the team's training schedule.
