Position Overview:

The Operational Support Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the ENT & Audiology Service line.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage waiting lists and Patient Tracking Lists (PTLs) in accordance with Trust standards.
  • Ensure the consultant rota is maintained accurately and is up to date.
  • Provide oversight of junior doctor rotas, offering guidance and support to management and the rota office team regarding absences.
  • Address and resolve theatre and outpatient challenges promptly, including emergencies, flexible session utilization, and staff leave.
  • Ensure compliance with access targets across all specialties, including elective inpatient, daycase, cancer, outpatient, and diagnostics.
  • Oversee non-admitted and admitted Referral to Treatment (RTT) pathways to minimize backlogs.
  • Facilitate the reduction of follow-up outpatient backlogs through validation and administrative process reviews.
  • Act as a deputy for the Service Line Cluster Manager as needed, reporting operational or performance issues to the Service Line Directors and Care Group Manager.
  • Verify data quality reports and assist staff in making necessary amendments.
  • Review the Service Line dashboard to ensure accuracy and timeliness prior to month-end close.
  • Collaborate with key personnel on service improvement initiatives, focusing on access targets and efficiency metrics.
