About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team at Devon Partnership NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to children and adolescents, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver effective treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric input to the multidisciplinary team, contributing to clinical and team management decisions.
  • Contribute to leading on the establishment of multi-disciplinary assessment clinics, providing high-quality specialist mental health assessments of young people referred into the service.
  • Participate in on-call duties and join the regular peer group CPD forum.
  • Support the development of clinical supervision and special interests.

Requirements
  • Full Registration with the General Medical Council.
  • To hold Approved Clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
  • Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at time of interview.
  • Approved under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • MRC Psych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
  • Evidence of sub-speciality or other specific training, systemic therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy.
  • CCT Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
