Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Chef De Partie to join our team at Heathrow Airport. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and plating high-quality food items, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation and Presentation
    • Prepare and plate all food items according to agreed menu specifications and presentation standards.
    • Ensure that all food items are of exceptional quality, visually appealing, and meet the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene
    • Ensure that all kitchen equipment is used in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and agreed specifications.
    • Monitor and maintain expiry/use-by dates of all food items to ensure that all items offered to passengers are within expiry.
    • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, including completing all HACCP requirements in daily duties.
  • Team Collaboration and Leadership
    • Supervise and mentor Commis and Kitchen Stewards to ensure that they are meeting the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
    • Communicate effectively with service staff and lounge management to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Inventory Management and Control
    • Monitor and control food inventory levels to avoid wastage and ensure that all items are used within expiry.
    • Requisition food and beverages in a timely and efficient manner to meet customer demand.

Requirements

  • Experience and Qualifications
    • Previous experience as a Chef De Partie in a fast-paced, high-end culinary environment.
    • Impressive knife skills and ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen.
    • Airline catering experience is highly desirable, but not essential.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Confident and motivated individual with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
    • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
