Key Responsibilities:
  • Essential Skills: Expertise in Door Finishing, Glass Movement, and Sealing Techniques.
  • Ensure that all design solutions comply with: Bill of Design (BOD), Bill of Process (BOP), cost and weight targets, legal regulations, and quality documentation.
  • Achieve timely sign-off for Preliminary Engineering and Final Engineering.
  • Deliver Commodity PSW according to project timelines.
  • Utilize recognized problem-solving methods and the Automated Issue Management System (AIMS) to resolve issues in alignment with project metrics.
  • Oversee supplier relationships.
  • Maintain an Agile approach.
  • Deliver the commodity plan ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to timelines, including managing the Worldwide Engineering Release System.
  • Lead the Engineering Advanced Product Quality Planning deliverables.
  • Manage Change Requests, budget forecasting, and coordinate with supplier teams to meet project milestones.
  • Oversee design verification test plans, ensuring detailed planning of testing phases through to approval, and assist Engineering test teams in addressing issues.
  • Contribute to the development of new features.
  • Ensure all design solutions meet: cost and weight targets, legal regulations, and quality documentation.
  • Keep all module documentation current, including meeting notes, design analysis, quality history, and commodity plans.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by management related to job responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with CAD Engineers, external suppliers, design teams, and various engineering and management teams.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in leading the resolution of business, technical, and process challenges within a project team.
  • Strong understanding of product creation, delivery, change control, and management processes.
  • Knowledge of automotive closure systems, materials such as glass, plastics, rubbers, composites, or BIW.
  • Proficient in creating D sections and D geometry using Catia V/V/TCE/Digibuck.
  • Familiarity with GD&T application and gauge design.
  • Experience with kinematic systems.
  • Valid driving license.
Desirable Attributes:
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage effectively.
  • Previous experience in automotive engineering or testing departments.
  • Understanding of aerodynamics and kinematics.
  • Knowledge of AVA.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
