Housing Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Housing Support Officer to join our team. As a key member of our housing team, you will play a vital role in providing housing management and support to our residents, ensuring their needs are met and their tenancies are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the intake of residents, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and policies are clearly explained.
- Monitor rent accounts, taking proactive steps to minimise arrears and enforce action when necessary.
- Maximise housing occupancy and minimise voids through effective housing management strategies.
- Investigate and address cases of anti-social behaviour, ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents.
- Conduct Outcome Stars assessments and create person-centred action plans to support residents in achieving their goals.
- Liaise with external agencies to provide advice and advocacy for our residents, ensuring they receive the support they need.
- Conduct regular facilities and wellbeing checks to ensure our residents are living in safe and comfortable conditions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a holistic approach to resident support, addressing their physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Follow Safeguarding procedures and report concerns proactively, ensuring the well-being and safety of our residents.
- Support residents in engaging with education, training, employment, and volunteering opportunities, helping them to achieve their full potential.
- Experience in housing management and support, with a strong understanding of rent account monitoring and arrears minimisation strategies.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments, building strong relationships with colleagues and external agencies.
- Strong understanding of Safeguarding policies and procedures, with the ability to identify and report concerns proactively.
- Competence in conducting assessments and creating action plans, with a focus on resident-centred support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with residents from diverse backgrounds and with varying needs.
