Senior Commercial Risk Underwriter

Role Overview

As a vital member of the Regional Senior Technician Underwriting team at NFU Mutual, you will support our Regional Underwriters by providing essential guidance, training, and advice. Your expertise will ensure that our teams possess the necessary technical knowledge and skills to achieve their objectives and deliver outstanding customer service.

In this influential position, you will manage the administration and resolution of complex cases and referrals, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards while striving for favorable outcomes for our members. You will also take on a leadership role, mentoring and coaching team members to enhance their technical abilities and uphold our commitment to exceptional customer service.

Additionally, you will play a key role in the strategic development of technical capabilities, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring alignment with organizational policies. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and reporting on technical activities, identifying areas for enhancement, and driving efficiency improvements to benefit both our customers and the organization.

Candidate Profile

To excel in this position as a Regional Senior Technician, you should have a proven history of managing a diverse range of intricate Commercial Underwriting cases and providing technical expertise within a regulatory framework. You should also demonstrate experience in developing and mentoring others or have supported colleagues in gaining authority. Key qualifications include:

Strong communication and influencing skills Exceptional attention to detail combined with practical and logical thinking Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities Proven experience in building and maintaining relationships Experience in report writing (desirable)
