About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our established Commercial team at STRIDE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT LTD. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for underwriting bespoke commercial risks and developing mutually beneficial relationships with a panel of Network brokers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwriting and Risk Management: Support the profitable development of our Mid-Market Commercial Combined and Property Owners account by underwriting complex commercial risks.
  • Broker Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with a panel of Network brokers as their nominated underwriter.
  • Account Growth: Prospect and actively contribute to the growth targets of the team by optimising sales and retention.
  • Case Management: Take ownership of large and complex cases, working proactively with brokers to negotiate the right outcome.
  • Service Delivery: Maintain and endeavour to exceed agreed service levels to both internal and external customers.
  • Market Knowledge: Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the commercial underwriting and broking market.
  • Team Support: Be a strong referral point for your team, providing technical assistance and guidance to junior colleagues.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in underwriting and trading mid-market Commercial Combined and Property Owners broker market.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to positively influence key stakeholders.
  • Negotiation Skills: Demonstrate ability to negotiate and influence through use of effective trading skills.
  • Adaptability: Motivated, driven, and adaptable, with a can-do attitude.
  • Collaboration: Willingly provides help and support to others and has the ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Customer Service: Strong customer service ethos, continuously and proactively looking to improve the quality of service provided to all customers.
  • Decision Making: Confident decision maker who brings a strong and decisive approach to underwriting.
