Job Title: Technical Operations Associate (Systems)

Location: Crewe, UK
Working Arrangement: 5 days per week on-site
Shift Pattern: 9-hour shifts, typically Monday to Friday (1893 hours annually, offering approximately 5 extra weeks off per year)

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary: £42,313 per annum
  • Bonus: 10% based on performance targets
  • Additional Rewards: £50 per month reward spend (options include alcohol, dental, shares plan, or pension contribution)
  • Holidays: 26 days annual leave + bank holidays

Team Structure:

  • You will be part of a compact team of three, reporting directly to the Technical & Services Manager.

Interview Process:

  • Interviews will be conducted mid-week.
  • Single interview round including an assessment.

Role Overview:
As a Technical Operations Associate, your primary responsibility will be to maintain and enhance the technical systems that underpin a fully automated warehouse along with other essential business applications. This role also encompasses providing desktop support to both on-site and remote users, in addition to network support for the Crewe site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support critical technical systems essential for warehouse automation and business operations.
  • Deliver desktop support for both on-site and remote users, along with network support for the Crewe facility.
  • Identify, lead, and implement system enhancements to accommodate new business requirements, involving meticulous planning and execution.
  • Engage in the management of systems/applications associated with the Warehouse Management System and SAP.
  • Work on ancillary systems, including B2B, B2C, track and trace systems, EDI, and related software and hardware.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience with operational systems, ideally within a corporate IT environment.
  • Hands-on desktop support experience (not helpdesk).
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP, particularly in Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Experience working with Red Hat Linux.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Oracle/SQL for manipulation and query execution.
  • Understanding of PLC communications within robotic/automated warehouse environments.
  • Strong networking knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with team members and stakeholders.
