Position Overview

As a Yard and Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency of our establishment. This position requires early morning availability, making it ideal for individuals who are comfortable with early starts, especially during colder months.

You will be provided with appropriate safety gear, including high-visibility vests, gloves, and warm hats, to ensure your comfort and safety while performing your duties. It is essential to have safety boots to protect your feet during work.

Your responsibilities will include preparing for incoming deliveries, which involves:

  • Transporting cages from delivery vehicles to storage areas
  • Unloading items, with the heaviest individual box weighing approximately 5kg and the heaviest cage up to 100kg

Attention to detail is vital as you will need to verify:

  • Quantities of items received
  • Temperature checks for perishable goods
  • Inspection for any damages

Once verified, you will be responsible for organizing stock in designated areas, including:

  • Frozen items in the freezer
  • Chilled products in the refrigerators
  • Dry goods in the stock rooms

We adhere to a First In, First Out (FIFO) stock rotation policy to ensure freshness.

Additional responsibilities will encompass:

  • Clearing and emptying waste bins
  • Compacting rubbish for efficient disposal
  • Cleaning any spills in the outdoor areas
  • Jet washing the yard to maintain cleanliness
  • General upkeep of the work environment
