Job Summary:

F Ball & Co Ltd is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our Cheddleton manufacturing facility. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on a variety of machines and equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  2. Maintenance Records: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities through our maintenance software and PDAs.
  3. Reactive Maintenance: Respond to and resolve equipment failures and faults in a timely and efficient manner.
  4. Testing and Inspection: Conduct regular testing and inspection of fire alarm and fire suppression systems.
  5. Fabrication and Overhaul: Perform fabrication work and overhaul of equipment, including pumps, packing machines, conveyors, augers, and fluidisers.
  6. Site Maintenance: Assist in maintaining our 8-acre site, including commercial and industrial buildings.

Requirements:

  1. Qualifications: A formal mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent standard of professional qualification.
  2. Experience: Experience working within the manufacturing sector, particularly in a maintenance engineering type role.
  3. Knowledge: A good general knowledge of engineering, including pneumatics and hydraulics.
  4. Skills: Highly motivated, organised, and a team player with a strong work ethic.

Working Conditions:

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, day shifts only. 32 days paid holiday per year. Full site-specific training will be provided, including MEWPs, Confined spaces, Rooftop access, FLT, PAMSA/LOBO scaffolding, and various technical training.
