Are you a seasoned Psychiatric Consultant with expertise in ADHD? The Oakdale Centre CiC, a distinguished not-for-profit organisation, is launching a dedicated Prescribing Service aimed at supporting individuals diagnosed with ADHD.

About Us:

For nearly 25 years, The Oakdale Centre CiC has been dedicated to delivering flexible, evidence-based, and high-quality clinical services. Our offerings encompass specialist assessments for autism, ADHD, and developmental trauma, alongside psychological therapies for clients referred by the NHS, Local Authorities, educational institutions, and the general public.

The Role:

We are establishing a new Prescribing Service focused on children and adults diagnosed with ADHD. Having recently achieved registration with the CQC to provide this service, we are looking for a committed and experienced Psychiatric Consultant with a focus on ADHD within Oakdale's neurodevelopmental pathway. This role presents a unique opportunity to lead and develop this service from the ground up, allowing for innovation and the incorporation of best practices within established guidelines and governance frameworks. As a Psychiatric Consultant, you will be instrumental in medication prescribing, evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment for clients with ADHD. Our team is dedicated to addressing the needs of individuals who have experienced significant waiting times for neurodevelopmental assessments. Your primary responsibilities will include providing expert psychiatric care, initiating medication protocols, and offering ongoing monitoring and support to enhance the well-being and functioning of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver specialist assessment and intervention for ADHD.
  • Prepare and review prescriptions in accordance with NICE guidelines.
  • Oversee medication management and facilitate its transition to primary care.
  • Contribute to governance, audits, and data reporting.

Person Specification (Essential):
  • Consultant Psychiatrist with relevant experience in ASD and ADHD.
  • Full GMC Registration.
  • Current MRCPsych status.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems.
  • Effective risk management and delegation skills.
