Consultant in Pain Management and Anaesthesia

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant in Pain Management and Anaesthesia to join our team at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional patient care and maintain the highest clinical standards in the management of patients with acute and chronic pain.
- Contribute to the smooth running of Acute and Chronic Pain services, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure seamless care pathways.
- Participate in teaching, audit, management, and clinical governance activities to drive excellence in patient care and service delivery.
- Develop and maintain good working practices within wards, outpatients, and A&E, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
- Collaborate with colleagues in tertiary centers, community services, and primary care to ensure integrated and coordinated care.
- Offer support and leadership to junior medical colleagues, nursing colleagues, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Share responsibility for the day-to-day management of patients, ensuring timely and effective care.
- Actively participate in departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and Audit.

- Clinical and other administration as required by agreement
- Teaching, training, and supervising of junior staff and undergraduates
- To be involved in appraising and assessing juniors
- Participation in Clinical Governance
- Teaching, research, and administration
- MB ChB/BS or EEA equivalent
- FRCA or other appropriate equivalent
- Eligible for CCT in Anaesthesia
- Pain Qualification
- Able to take responsibility, show leadership, make decisions, exert appropriate authority
- Experience of working in a team and developing service improvement strategies
- Experience of teaching and training undergraduates/postgraduates and junior medical staff
- Understanding of principles of clinical audit
- Committed to monitoring and improving clinical quality
- Committed to building a clinical practice that is evidence-based
