We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Non-Acute Pain and Anaesthesia to join our team at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care and management of patients with non-acute pain and anaesthesia needs.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Participate in teaching, training, and supervising junior staff and undergraduates.
- Contribute to clinical governance and audit activities to ensure high standards of care.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement care pathways and clinical guidelines.
- Take part in multidisciplinary case discussions and meetings to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Develop and maintain good working practices within wards, outpatients, and A&E.
- Offer support and leadership to junior medical colleagues, nursing colleagues, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- MB ChB/BS or EEA equivalent qualification.
- FRCA or other appropriate equivalent qualification.
- Eligible for CCT in Anaesthesia.
- Pain Qualification.
- Ability to take responsibility, show leadership, make decisions, and exert appropriate authority.
- Experience of working in a team and developing service improvement strategies.
- Experience of teaching and training undergraduates/postgraduates and junior medical staff.
- Understanding of principles of clinical audit.
- Committed to monitoring and improving clinical quality.
- Committed to building a clinical practice that is evidence-based.
- GMC specialist registration or within 6 months of being admitted to the GMC's specialist register in anaesthesia in approved training post.
- FFellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists or equivalent.
- Achieved the competencies of 12 months advanced Pain training, as per RCOA guidelines or equivalent.
