As a Cost Estimation Specialist, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, making a significant and sustainable impact on the environment. You will work closely with Senior Estimators and various teams within AtkinsRéalis to ensure precise reporting, benchmarking, and analysis of our clients' infrastructure expenditures. Essential Skills and Knowledge:
  • Experience in Infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Comprehension of cost drivers that influence a project and the ability to translate engineering data into relevant cost factors.
  • Knowledge of direct and indirect costs and the process of creating an estimate.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting cost-related information clearly.
  • Ability to constructively challenge peers to achieve favorable results.
  • Effective interaction with diverse colleagues across various disciplines involved in our clients' programs or within AtkinsRéalis.
  • Awareness of governmental initiatives and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently generate estimates at different project phases using various measurement techniques and estimating software.
  • Assist in developing a benchmarking database and reporting processes to provide timely and accurate insights for decision-making.
  • Support the implementation of precise cost measurement procedures, including progress and performance assessments.
  • Offer professional cost-related advice to stakeholders, including Procurement Specialists, Cost/Contract Management Personnel, Estimators, and Project Controls within AtkinsRéalis and for our clients.
  • Ensure ongoing enhancement of Client policies, procedures, and resources related to cost and control services.
  • Collaborate closely with the Scheduling Team to align cost models with project timelines.
Qualifications:
  • Working towards or holding membership in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), ACostE, ICES, or a similar relevant professional body.
  • A relevant degree or a combination of experience and qualifications.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying and a thorough understanding of the construction sector.
