Job Summary:

Sewell Wallis Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Director to join their Senior Leadership Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading the finance department and providing strategic financial guidance to drive business growth.

About the Role:

  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance team to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to meet the company's financial needs.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee month-end processes, prepare management accounts, and create board packs to provide accurate and timely financial information.
  • Financial Oversight: Oversee and maintain the Profit and Loss statement, conduct detailed variance analysis, and manage the balance sheet to ensure the company's financial health.
  • Year-End & Audit: Lead year-end accounting, manage the audit process, and ensure timely delivery of audit and statutory financial statements.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage quarterly VAT returns and ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations.
  • Banking & Financing: Manage communications with banks, oversee financial covenants for loans, and handle financing needs to support business growth.
  • ERP Implementation: Play an active role in ERP system implementation and subsequent reporting improvements to enhance financial efficiency.
  • Business Strategy: Provide financial modeling and support to the leadership team on business strategy, capital investments, and expansion plans.
  • Governance: Ensure financial controls are in place to provide appropriate governance within the business.
  • Training & Development: Participate in all mandatory training and support the ongoing development of the finance team.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Significant experience as a senior-level Financial Controller or Head of Finance in a fast-paced growth company.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations and external legislation, with the ability to communicate the impact on the business.
  • Broad Financial Experience: Driven, hungry, and a strong fit with the company culture.
