Business Development Consultant

Legal & General Group is seeking a skilled Business Development Consultant to join our award-winning Defined Contribution (DC) team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering profitable DC Pensions business development strategies, strengthening relationships with Employee Benefits Consultants (EBCs), and establishing new direct prospects to achieve LGIM's DC growth targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with Senior Business Development Directors to develop and maintain key EBC relationships, while building your own network of intermediaries.
  2. Develop new relationships with small EBC firms, ensuring they understand the Legal & General proposition and are well-positioned for opportunities.
  3. Manage internal relationships between Business Development Directors and the Acquisition support team to ensure new opportunities are thoroughly researched and proposals are tailored to each prospect.
  4. Manage internal relationships between Client Relationship Managers and the Acquisition support team to ensure existing client retention opportunities are fully bespoke and reflect the existing relationship with Legal & General.
  5. Conduct market research using known databases to prioritize direct-to-employer opportunities.
  6. Strong knowledge of DC Pensions, investment funds, and unbundled investment products is desirable but not essential.
  7. A high standard of written English is essential.
  8. Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  9. Understanding of the DC Pensions marketplace.
