About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team at Hinkley Point C, a pioneering nuclear power station project in the UK. As a key member of our WIC (Wrapping, Insulation, and Caulking) Area team, you will play a crucial role in delivering the project's objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project Manager in delivering the WIC scope, ensuring established goals and objectives are met.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, tracking milestones and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Identify and resolve issues or risks that may impact project delivery, escalating significant concerns to the Project Manager as necessary.
  • Secure and coordinate necessary resources, including personnel and materials, to complete project tasks on time.
  • Maintain and organise project documentation, ensuring accessibility and compliance with Nuclear New Build (NNB) procedures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and support.
  • Assist in budget management and provide regular updates on project status, progress against deliverables, and challenges faced by the team.
Requirements

We are looking for a knowledgeable project professional with strong people management skills, enabling you to build relationships, influence others, and work collaboratively within complex, multidisciplinary teams.

Key qualifications include:

  • Education to degree level (or equivalent experience) in a relevant engineering, construction, or related technical subject.
  • Professional qualification in Project Management, such as APM PPQ, is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills, capable of interacting with senior managers and conveying information clearly.
  • Good analytical skill, allowing you to display a logical thought process, conduct budget analysis, and perform forecasting with ease.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail in your work.
