Psychological Support Assistant - Cambian Group

Salary: £25,60 FT (£12,80 pro rata)

Hours: 20 hours per week

Contract: Fixed-term contract of 12 months, with a potential review for an additional 6 months

This position is intended to provide coverage during a staff member's educational leave.

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Psychological Support Assistants.

Role Overview: The successful candidate will support the psychological well-being of children and adolescents by assisting licensed psychologists in implementing and assessing evidence-based interventions. Responsibilities include:

  • Administering and scoring psychometric evaluations
  • Conducting standardized risk assessments
  • Participating in clinical formulation
  • Providing support and consultation to staff
  • Facilitating individual and group interventions

Comprehensive induction training will be provided, along with ongoing mentorship and support from experienced professionals in the field. Clinical supervision is a vital component of your development, and additional training opportunities will be available.

Candidate Profile: We are looking for a motivated and organized team player with a solid understanding of therapeutic boundaries and the significance of evidence-based practices. Essential qualities include:

  • A genuine desire to assist others
  • A good degree in Psychology
  • Preferably prior experience in an Assistant Psychologist role (via a University, BPS accredited)
