About The Role

M Group Services is seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead our Yorkshire Water Smart Metering programme. This is a critical project that involves the installation of 1.3 million meters and is essential to the region's future supply needs.

The successful candidate will be part of our Senior Management Team and will be responsible for the day-to-day running and leadership of the programme. They will work closely with our clients to deliver exceptional service and results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and enable the highest standards of Safety compliance and drive a positive wellbeing culture throughout the operational area.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of M Group Services direct staff and subcontractors with respect to the required standards of Health and Safety, Quality and the Environment.
  • Direct responsibility and accountability for the operational area's monthly Cost and Value Reconciliation.
  • Accountability for the delivery of all Contractual and Commercial KPIs, Quarterly and Annual Business Plan targets.
  • Direct management of a team of Operational Managers and a Planning Manager.
  • Build long-lasting and engaging client relationships, promoting the values of M Group Services and continually supporting clients' needs to deliver the best possible solutions.
  • Provide operational support in the procurement of all Sub-contractors and Suppliers.
  • Develop and implement changes to process, following understanding of a need to improve performance.
  • Plan, recruit and co-ordinate all operational resources for current and future works.
  • Be the face of M Group Services for all Client and Contractor operational issues.
  • Leadership of all colleagues across a wide range of functions, supporting development, diversity and inclusion and championing employee engagement.
  • Ensure resource requirements are met for now and the future, investing in technical, behavioural and safety development.
  • Promote the highest levels of integrity within the business and demonstrate professionalism and uphold the M Group Services code of conduct at all times.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable high level of communication and negotiation skills.
  • Previous Senior Management experience in utility contracting or similar environment.
  • Formal training and development will be provided, but we will look favourably if you can demonstrate that you have the following qualifications:
  • Institute of Leadership and Management Level 5 or equivalent.
  • NRSWA Supervisor.
  • SMSTS.
  • Service Avoidance.
