Academic and Operations Director

About the Role:

The Operations Director will be responsible for overseeing all elements of operational performance within Link Group's Corporate Markets division. This role will be based in a hybrid capacity at our office in Leeds, requiring the ability to commute to the office at least three times a week. The Operations Director will be part of a global team and will also be required to travel to other Link Group sites in the UK and internationally, necessitating flexibility to work outside standard hours at times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational and business-wide strategies in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Manage business operations within financial services at a senior leadership level, including engagement at board level.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with excellent interpersonal skills, enabling strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, clients, and customers at all levels.
  • Drive the continual design and digital enhancement of the Operations model to effectively support the business and its successful growth.
  • Ensure continuous improvement is an integral part of the culture, while supporting business growth.
  • Oversee and maintain operational performance to ensure it meets regulatory and client expectations and targets.
  • Deliver operational and financial results against associated plans and budgets while making high-quality decisions that advance the business and enable an increase in margins.
  • Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate existing and emerging operational risks, ensuring operational business controls are effective and that policies and procedures are clearly defined and adhered to.
  • Fully adhere to legal and regulatory requirements and the good conduct of the businesses, maintaining ongoing compliance and upholding the reputation of Link Group.

Requirements:

  • Significant demonstrable experience of managing business operations within financial services at a senior leadership level, including engagement at board level.
  • A proven strategic thinker with the ability to develop well-considered, robust business strategies.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing operational and business-wide strategies in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of dealing with a regulated financial environment, a sound understanding of the regulatory regime, and previous experience as an SMF3.
