Position Overview:
The role involves providing assistance to a 29-year-old individual with Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, Learning Difficulties, and Severe Visual Impairment. We are seeking a deputy team leader to enhance our dedicated and experienced support team, delivering comprehensive care around the clock.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing a group of caregivers, which entails training, managing, and supporting all team members effectively.

Care will be provided in the individual's home and within the community, engaging in various activities to promote a fulfilling lifestyle.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate hydrotherapy sessions.
  • Assist with music therapy activities.
  • Support community engagement.
  • Perform all personal care duties.
  • Administer routine and emergency medications.
  • Organize social and sensory experiences.
  • Conduct minor household tasks, including laundry and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Provide manual handling support.
  • Assist with tube feeding and, if necessary, administer oxygen therapy and suction.
  • Cover for staff absences due to illness or holidays.

  • Experience in providing physiotherapy and sensory stimulation is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working with young individuals with sensory impairments, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and epilepsy is required.
  • A clean driving license is advantageous.
The position is subject to a DBS check and successful completion of initial training along with a probationary period.

Work Schedule: 3 – 4 late/early weekday shifts (7:30 – 16:00, and 10:30 – 20:00) per week, plus one weekend each month. These shifts can be part-time or full-time and may include night shifts on a rotating 4-week schedule.


Compensation:
£12.35 per hour

Enhanced rates for unsocial hours and weekends.

Leave Entitlement:

Employees are entitled to 28 days of paid holiday (including bank holidays) pro rata based on the number of shifts worked.
