Data Protection Compliance Specialist

DGH Recruitment is currently seeking a qualified professional for a prominent client in the Travel & Tourism sector who is in need of a Data Protection Compliance Specialist. This role involves overseeing the organization’s Data Protection practices, particularly focusing on the comprehensive management of Data Access Requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to oversee, assess, and enhance the Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) process.
  • Execute the complete procedure for addressing data subject requests under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), including subject access and erasure requests.
  • Contribute significantly to the development and integration of tools utilized in the data subject request process, such as the OneTrust Privacy Rights Automation module and other internal systems.
  • Oversee data security incidents and carry out investigations, ensuring adherence to legislation, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in managing data subject requests in compliance with the UK GDPR.
  • In-depth knowledge of current and forthcoming UK data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and Privacy and Electronic Communication Regulations (PECR), along with familiarity with guidance from the Information Commissioner's Office.
  • Experience in a collaborative environment where providing expert advice on UK data protection law to both internal and external stakeholders is essential.
  • Understanding of information security best practices, such as ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
  • Knowledge of payment card industry standards and requirements, specifically the Payment Card Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
