Paisley, Renfrewshire, United Kingdom NHS Scotland Full time

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde stands as one of the most extensive healthcare networks in the UK, employing approximately 40,000 individuals across a diverse array of clinical and non-clinical roles. Our services encompass acute hospital care, primary healthcare, community services, and mental health support for a population exceeding 1.15 million, extending to 2.2 million when considering our regional and national services.

As part of our commitment to enhancing work-life balance, NHS Scotland is transitioning to a reduced full-time working week of 37 hours, effective from April 2024, without any alteration in salary. This adjustment will also apply proportionately to part-time employees. Please note that certain service areas may require a temporary extension of working hours for up to 30 minutes per week until they can fully implement the new schedule.

The role involves a shift pattern of 7.5 hours per day, with flexibility in scheduling across various times.

The Cook Freeze Production Unit is actively seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to take on the role of Band 3 Supervisor, Team Leader. This position entails overseeing the daily coordination and management of essential functions to ensure seamless operations, adherence to productivity schedules, and the maintenance of high-quality standards.

The core functions are supported by four primary teams: Production, Hygiene, Portioning, Packing & Freezing, and Goods In/Issue. The successful candidate will rotate as Team Leader across these functions, with specific day-to-day responsibilities assigned to one designated team.

In this role, you will assist the Team Manager by providing effective supervision, training, and development for CPU staff. You will also be responsible for upholding the highest standards of food safety and environmental hygiene throughout the production unit and associated areas.

While a certificate in Intermediate Food Hygiene is preferred, it is not mandatory as training will be provided. However, experience in a large-scale food production or catering environment is essential for this position.

Inclusivity Commitment: NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde encourages applications from all community sectors, fostering a culture of inclusion and celebrating our diverse workforce.

As a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, we are committed to being a Forces Friendly Employer, recognizing the skills and experiences of military personnel during our recruitment process.
