As part of our commitment to employee well-being, NHS Scotland is transitioning to a reduced full-time working week of 37 hours, effective from April 2024, without any alterations to salary. This adjustment will also apply proportionately to part-time employees. Please note that while this new schedule will be implemented, certain service areas may require a temporary extension of working hours, up to an additional 30 minutes per week, until they can fully transition to the new working pattern.
The position involves a shift pattern of 7.5 hours per day, with work hours rotating daily.
The Cook Freeze Production Unit is seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to assume the role of Band 3 Supervisor, Team Leader. This role is pivotal in overseeing the daily coordination and management of essential operations, ensuring adherence to productivity schedules and maintaining exceptional quality standards.
The core functions of this role are supported by four primary teams: Production, Hygiene, Portioning, Packing & Freezing, and Goods In/Issue. The selected candidate will serve as the Team Leader for all four core functions on a rotational basis, with specific day-to-day responsibilities assigned to one designated team.
In this capacity, the Team Leader will assist the Team Manager by providing effective supervision, training, and development for the staff within the Cook Freeze Production Unit. Additionally, the role entails upholding the highest standards of food safety and environmental hygiene throughout the production unit and its associated areas.
While a certificate in Intermediate Food Hygiene is preferred, it is not mandatory as training will be provided. However, prior experience in a large-scale food production or catering environment is essential for this position.
