Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Project Management Director to lead our construction projects from initial assessment to completion. The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction project management, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and management for the effective delivery of construction projects
  • Manage all aspects of onsite projects from initial assessment to completion
  • Assist with the financial viability assessment of projects
  • Making utility connection applications
  • Maintain project documentation and develop new forms as needed
  • Complete new project H&S assessments and documentation
  • Act as Principal Designer for projects
  • Assess, appoint, and manage sub-contractors
  • Travel to projects to monitor and appoint site managers
  • Manage and ensure Building Control sign off on all projects
  • Liaise with factory manager for on-time delivery of kitsets
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture across projects
  • Champion Health and Safety to ensure compliance
  • Ensure adherence to project plans and deadlines
  • Work with the factory manager to achieve lean best practice
  • Liaise with customers to ensure quality delivery
  • Recruit and build a team to support project delivery
  • Interface with the Board of Directors and shareholders as needed

Requirements:

  • Extensive construction project management experience/knowledge with at least 5 years in a leadership/management role
  • Site Health and Safety experience with SMSTS certification and Principal Designer experience
  • Strong leadership skills and management skills with a focus on team building
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills coupled with business acumen
  • Knowledge of and experience driving Process Improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Practical Process Improvement, etc.)
  • People Management and Conflict Management Skills
  • Resource and Capacity Planning
  • Willing to get involved and be hands-on
  • Exposure to the MMC or construction industry is preferred but not essential
  • Comfortable working with prisoners and/or ex-offenders

Essential Requirements:

  • Driving license
  • Be prepared to travel to sites and spend some nights away from home
