About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Service Desk Engineer to join our IT team at Birketts. As a key member of our service desk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to our internal users, ensuring that they receive timely and effective assistance with their IT-related queries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first-class technical support to internal users via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Work collaboratively with the IT team to resolve complex technical issues and meet service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Escalate issues to senior engineers or external vendors as necessary, ensuring that users are informed and updated throughout the process.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our IT systems, including Microsoft technologies and legal software.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest IT trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve our service desk operations.
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge base articles and other documentation to support the service desk team.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working in an IT support service or service desk environment.
  • Strong technical skills, with a focus on Microsoft technologies and legal software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with users at all levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a commitment to ongoing development and learning.
